Retired CEO: 'We’ve never seen anything this good'

DALLAS—Roy Burchfield, now retired after selling his software company at age 50, marveled at the Shen Yun Performance at The Music Hall.

“I took my family in 2007 to Beijing and then Shanghai. And we've not seen anything this good before. So we had an excellent time,” he said, referring to his wife and children that accompanied him to Shen Yun’s opening night in Dallas.

“The graphics and the color, and the music was wonderful, and, as well as the dancing.” He commented that he couldn’t figure out just how many dancers were on stage.

Burchfield also noted that even though he traveled to China for business, he never really understood the country well. “The other thing is that I learned more about the culture, as well as the history of China, that I didn't learn when I went over there.

“It [Shen Yun] was very wonderful.”

Part of Shen Yun’s mission is to provide world-wide audiences a deeper understanding of ancient Chinese culture. The New York-based company intends to revive artistic traditions of China that thrived for five thousand years before decades of suppression under communist rule.

The Shen Yun International Company will next go to Springfield, Illinois to perform one show on Tuesday Feb. 9.
